I am currently running the Beginner Template and will be moving on to the 2nd phase next week. I noticed that the updated version has OHP twice and bench once in phase 1 vs. the previous version had bench twice and OHP once in phase 1. Should I be making any programming adjustments in phase 2 and/or 3 because of this change or just carry on with phase 2 in the new version as written? Also, what is the reasoning behind this change?
I’m not sure exactly what you mean by “making any programming adjustments”, but you don’t have to change anything special about the programming.
You also get to pick your own exercises in these phases and I didn’t actually change anything in Phase I or II of the Beginner Template with respect to programming per se’, whereas the volume and intensity were altered in Phase III. The “change” between OHP and Bench for exercise selection is, in my opinion, inconsequential. You could do it either way and be totally fine. I would pick exercises you like from the drop-down menus and go from there.
