Conditioning Split

Hi BBM Team,

I have a quick question about how to split up conditioning in my training week.

For a few reasons, I prefer to do only lifting on my lifting days and combine running with GPP I can do at home on off days. It’s easier to fit other hobbies and such this way. I usually end up with 3 running days per week.

When a template calls for more conditioning days than this (General Strength and Conditioning calls for 5), can I combine the conditioning workouts so that I hit the same weekly “volume”? For example putting two 30-minute LISSes together to make a 60-minute session one Saturday, etc?

I know this all comes down ultimately to goals, priorities, etc. I mainly care about staying active and in good enough shape to participate in a variety of physical pursuits.

Thanks!
Alex

You can do pretty much anything you want, of course. If you’re asking whether or not this setup would likely produce the same or better outcomes than splitting them up, then the answer in this context is probably “yes”. In other templates that have less conditioning, I would prefer people kept them split up so they can be active on more days.
