Hey Docs, how have you been lately?
I got couple questions for you:
- What do u think about naps? Are they positive or negative thing for gainzZz?(e.g. 20-30 mins)
- At what age is testosterone at it’s highest?
- How do you deal with clients that dont have motivation to train?
- In hypertrohpy 1, I saw GPP arm day, but is that better on other day, or after workout day(in the same day), if it comes to focusing arm growth?
Cheers,
Dan
Dan,
Thanks for the post. To your questions:
Naps don’t seem to be particularly anabolic per se’, in that they don’t directly affect mechanisms relating to hypertrophy and strength adaptation. They do seem to improve performance in the short-term however, particularly for individuals who are low on sleep.
Testosterone is highest in the ~ early 20’s for most men.
I unfortunately don’t have time to really unpack my approach to client motivaiton, but that is something we could dive into on our monthly Direct Line “Ask Us Anything” podcast perhaps. If I suspected this, I would start the conversation with the individual asking them how they felt about their current training habits and see where the conversation went.
The way we split up training load over the week - training frequency - is mostly personal preference. It does not appear to have much of an impact on outcomes either way. Do whatever is easiest for you!
