Hello! I have no specific goals regarding my weight or competing. Currently doing the Knee Rehab template and trying to think about the next program after. General S&C seems to fit my general goals. I would like to understand what need was GS&C II template supposed to fill that was not filled by version I?
Welcome back to the forum! It’s been a minute. Good to see you
The General Strength and Conditioning II template was designed for individuals who are more advanced (e.g. more trained) and need a higher training load for both lifting and conditioning elements.
By comparison, the training load of General Strength and Conditioning I is lower, and therefore designed for individuals with less training history.
Coming from the kne rehab program, I’d recommend either, with the caveat being you must run the 3-day program first in the GSC II program. After that, it’s dealer’s choice.

Thank you, Jordan, it has been a difficult couple of years, but I am on my way to rekindle the love of the barbell so to speak. I am in a place in my journey when I feel that for program compliance I would prefer something with fewer exercises. To oversimplify, I would rather do 4 sets of squats than 2 sets of squats + 2 sets of leg presses.
Is this context relevant for choosing between GS&C 1 and 3-day variation of SG&C 2?
There are less exercises in GSC I as compared to II. That all being said, I think you’d really like the Time Crunch Gen II Template, as it comes with multiple programming options that fit your desire for fewer exercises as well as including quite a bit of conditioning. I’d probably favor that for now- with any of the included programs (there are 6 of them), then moving on to something else afterwards based on your preferences.
I didn’t consider that. You’re right, it might be what I need. Checked out the description and have last question, if I choose to do straight sets instead of supersets on that program all I would be sacrificing is time, right? I hate supersetting at a commercial gym and feeling like I hog equipment. I can spare extra minutes it would take to just do straight sets.
Yep, you got it exactly. We share the same opinion re: supersets. Additionally, there are a couple time cap programs in there don’t use supersets at all if you prefer that approach.
I really tried to handle a number of different use cases within the single download. I hope people like the programs and get good results from them!
