Hey! I noticed weighted dips were listed as the preferred supplementary press in the Strengthlifting 2 template over DB and barbell presses. I know that in the past that the BBM team has stated that the dip was not as useful as barbell and db pressing in terms of both strength and hypertrophy. Was their a change in opinion on weighted dips as an supplementary exercise or is their another reason for it being the preferred exercise in this instance?
I’m not sure that we’ve said that about the dips for the press, but definitely for the bench press. Nevertheless, I’ve seen dips have some pretty good carry over for the press in the context of a tertiary supplemental exercise.
