As I know from following BBM for a while now, people in this community tend to invest a lot into their reasoning&decision making skills in some areas - particularly evidence-based excercise, medicine and nutrition. I am currently on a bit of a research quest on the topic of scientific expertise and to that effect, I’d have some short questions for anyone who’s willing. I don’t have expertise in surveying yet and I am sure this could be done better, but at this early stage any info is welcome;)
Considering scientific expertise, on any topic, which could reach you in any form - speaking with your prof, through the media etc. - :

What are the most difficult or painful problems you face relying on somebody else’s scientific expertise, outside the domains of medicine,excercise&nutrition?

How do these problems affect your life in general?
Bonus: - Are there any big challenges in using scientific expertise within the domains of medicine,excercise&nutrition?
I know the answers to the above for myself, but would like to know if this is actually a big deal for other people as well:). Happy to share any findings, if people are interested.
