GPP Cardio & Sport

Hi,

A few months back after a discussion of my training history with Dr Feigenbaum it was recommended that PB2 would be a good fit for my goals of fat loss, but a few weeks later I had to have my ruptured appendix removed which impacted my training and for the following few months kind of programme hopped various push pull legs, upper lower type plans.

Current stats are 33, 6 feet, 200lbs, 36.5 inch waist at the naval.

I have started running PB 2 a few days ago with the goal of 2.5% bodyweight loss per month.

I play 5-a-side soccer for 60 minutes on a Monday evening and half court basketball for 60 minutes on a Thursday evening. Should I still complete all of the GPP cardio on top of this considering a few weeks in to the template the cardio hits 4x per week or would this be too much for me considering the 2x sport per week? Both sports are played at a fairly intense level.

Extra question if I may… I start a new job next month which will involve working from home a few days per week with an hour for my lunch break. Would completing part of the workout on my lunch break (home gym) and completing the rest when I finish work a few hours later be ok or would this result in suboptimal results? I was think about splitting it into upper/lower on those days.

Thank you

Loui,

Yep, I’d still do the conditioning to support your recreational athletic efforts, weight loss, and cardiorespiratory fitness. The only modification I’d make is to eliminate any HIIT that’s programmed.

I think splitting up the programming is fine given your schedule.

Thanks Jordan.
I’ve just finished week one and I think the lower body volume might be too much for me with playing soccer and basketball as well. Is there a way you would recommend taking the lower body days down to 3 days lifting whilst keeping the upper body at 4 days?
