Grip strength preventing me from getting in enough back work

Hi BBM, I’ve always had a stronger back in comparison to what my grip strength can manage. I find it very difficult to get a back pump at all before my grip/arms give out.

I usually try to accommodate for this by using straps with barbells, but even then usually my biceps give out before I can really get a good back pump. I find it tough to get past RPE 5 or 6 (back muscles) before my arms are at an RPE 9-10. Have you encountered people with this challenge before?

This is especially an issue now because I’m trying to use more back machines (for variety and because I like them more). With those, since I can’t use straps easily, my grip is giving out way before my back does. What would you recommend I do?

What are you doing for training and why can’t you use straps? I’ve not come across a machine in the gym for typical back exercises where I couldn’t use straps, but admittedly, there may be things I haven’t seen yet!
