Hiit

Backstory, I work on a boat. This boat happens to have a barbell and some free weights. I can weight train. However i normally use a jump rope for hiit and do not have one with me for at least another week.

Is there anything I can do in the meantime? Sprints are not an option as its wintertime and shes icey.

Burpees?
If there are kettle bells on board, maybe kettle bell swings?

+1 on the burpees suggestion. That’s a great HIIT exercise.

Ahoy. Mountain climbers are great too, interspersed with jumping jacks. I like to do 20sec on with mountain climbers, 140sec off with jumping jacks. That being said, jumping jacks by themselves mimic jump rope the most I think.

@tfranc Wait! What??? Child you confused me, what do you mean 140 sec off with jumping jacks? Like do 20 seconds of mountain climbers then for rest do 140 seconds of jumping Jacks then 20 seconds of mountain climbers wash rinse repeat? So no rest in your HITT?

WOAH. Yep nope, what I typed is crap. Wow, thanks for calling me out. I totally had a Freudian moment where I got a drill I used to have to do when I played lacrosse mixed up with HIIT. Sorry about that lol how stupid of me!
