I just recently (as in yesterday) started The Bridge after listening to the 3 part podcast on programming and why “running it out” is a bad idea. I was previously on the Texas Method and I’m looking to get away from it in the long term. My brother is an amateur Thai fighter and is trying to go to Thailand to fight in about 6 months. In the meantime, I plan on joining the gym with him just because I want to mix things up from just the gym and to spend some time with him. I need to know what to transition to after The Bridge is done. Are there any solid templates from BBM that would work well for this? I’m willing to buy a program, but with how expensive they are I really don’t want to buy the wrong one.
For anyone that doesn’t know, Muay Thai is Thai kickboxing so it is an endurance heavy sport. I would like something that has me doing barbell training probably MWF and practice Muay Thai on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Muay Thai sessions will probably be a few hours long each with practicing striking and sparring.
Some recent training history if it helps:
I’ve been running the 4-Day TM like this
Week A:
Monday: Bench 5x5, Press 3x8, Chins 3x5 wtd
Tuesday: Squat 3-5x5, SLDL 3x5, BB Row 3x5
Thursday: Bench 5RM, Press 3x3, Dips 3x5
Friday: Squat 3RM, DL 3RM, 3x15 Banded GMs
Week B:
Just flips Bench and Press emphasis on Monday and Thursdays
TM PRs
Squat: 415 for 3 singles
Deadlift: 410x5
Bench: 224x5
Press: 2 ascending triples at 146 and 149
