Hypertrophy 7 week GPP vs. Hypertrophy I template

Hello BBM team!

I had somewhat of a follow up question to a recent post regarding the 7 week endurance template vs. updated Endurance template. My goals are health, aesthetics, strength respectively. I’m in week 9 of GS&C after 2 bouts of Powerbuilding I. I am enjoying the higher frequency, lower total min. HIITs which have made a big difference, saw great response in first block in squat/deadlift. I was interested in a more hypertrophy focused block and was intrigued by the first week of 7wk Hypertrophy GPP template through the app (liked the rep schemes along w/ EMOMs). I have run Hypertrophy I before and am likely more equipped now to deal with the volume but the length of workouts was somewhat of a limiting factor. Would you default to the Hypertrophy I over 7 wk hypertrophy GPP block as next template choice?

I would strongly recommend the Hypertrophy I template over the 7-wk template unless someone preferred the latter. In my eyes, Hypertrophy I is a better program for the stated goals.

Excellent - thank you! Would it be unreasonable to reduce main lifts (SBD) to 5-6 reps vs. 8 and perform rest as written?

I don’t think it’s unreasonable, though it does seem to get away from the goals of the template. I can’t really make a good argument for doing that either, so I probably wouldn’t. You’re free to try it though if you like.
