Hi, new to this forum but have been lurking and listening to BBM for awhile now. TIA to all who contribute to a great resource! I’ve learned a ton here.
I’m looking for opinions on what to run next here. About me:
6’1, 188 lbs, 38yo and resumed lifting nearly a year ago after a 14yr break. Used to bro-lift, decided to be smart this time and have switched to strength and powerlifting styles about 2.5 months ago.
I just finished the bridge 1.0. Was previously on other non-BBM programming. Now I want to alternate between a hypertrophy and a strength program every 8-12 weeks, as I definitely have more weight to gain, but interested in strength too. I’m definitely somewhere on the intermediate scale, and 95% sure I can handle 4 days of lifting a week no prob.
What have your experiences been with something like Hyp2/Strength2, or Power2/Strength2, or even Hyp2/Power2?
I think it’d depend on what you want to do. Do you want to still focus on the powerlifts or would you be cool with putting them on the back burner for 10 weeks to get more jacked?
I want to switch back and forth between power lifts and hypertrophy, so yeah, I’m willing to set one aside for 10-12 weeks, then switch.
I guess I know I could focus on both (power prog) then switch to strength, or pure hypertrophy, and then strength, and I’m wondering what other people’s experiences have been like with this or similar.
Well, Powerbuilding is neither a pure hypertrophy, nor pure strength, so if you want to switch between these two you will probably need strength templates. For me, I chose Powerbuidling. I don’t mind that I won’t see huge improvements in either the jackitude or strength fast, but I don’t want to spend 10 weeks on just prioritizing one (for now).
