Sew Easy
Traditional Straps
I have both. I hate the Sew Easy Straps. I actually, don’t find them easy at all and much prefer the traditional ones. At first, I chalked it up to my wrist size. But my wife has been using my sew easy straps and she gets pretty annoyed with them as well–and her wrists are, at the most, half the size of mine–if not smaller.
I have both and I prefer the Sew-Easy. I think it’s makes the setup a lot faster because it allows me to set up the straps bilaterally. I also think that Sew-Easy straps allows me to set up both sides more evenly. With that said, I don’t think it really matters. I think traditional straps are still good.
I’ve never tried the sew easy straps, but I made a few similar pairs of straps using the instructions from this video
I made one out of a pair of old loop deadlift straps for my girlfriend and one out of some seatbelt webbing. We both prefer them to loop straps. You don’t need to sew, taping the ends together works fine. 1 1/4" seems to be about optimal strap width for most people, so the sew easy straps are probably a nice commercial option.
Love me my Sew-Easy.
I used normal straps forever prior to the Sew-Easy and the length of the straps frustrated me. I find the Sew-Easy easier to use and set up. It does take a bit of practice, but totally worth it.
I use these.
Similar experience, though I followed this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Nrh-N_V_9s
Bought rock climbing webbing, cut it, wrapped the ends in athletic tape. Fairly short and I follow the wrap once method. I have a pair of these and the traditional loop ironminds. I highly, highly prefer the handmade ones.
