On Sunday I had a bit of tenderness in my knee (just below the patella) like I had bumped it or knelt on it a bit hard or something, which is entirely possible but didn’t think much of it. I finally got back in the gym on Monday after a long layoff, did some sets of 8 – was supposed to be 5 but by the 3rd i was gassed. At any rate, I didn’t notice any pain or anything like that during my training. On Tuesday morning things seemed OK but as the day went along I noticed my knee feeling warmer and in the evening saw it was fairly swollen. I’d say like a navel orange rather than a grapefruit or Pomelo; not as bad as some of the google image searches. I’ve been following a pretty standard icing routine (15 on, 20 off, 15 on , 2hr off) that seems to keep the swelling at a minmum. No major discoloration other than a pale pink in tender areas.
TL/DR swelled knee but no real pain, suggestions on how to move forward?
Hey @XTanuki - thanks for the questions. Sorry to hear about the recent knee symptoms. Difficult to give individualized advice without a consultation. However, for training purposes the general guidelines outlined HERE should be helpful.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond. I do recall seeing that article before; seems there is a noticable difference reading it casually vs. being in the situation where it is applicable. I guess I entered a type of paralysis so thanks for nudging me out of it.
