First time doing lever rows yesterday. Wasn’t 100% sure I was doing them correctly. My gym has a landmine setup. I mostly see people use a V-grip handle and straddle the bar, which to me is very analogous to the T-Bar Row machine we also have. I instead did the first two sets standing beside the bar in a semi-squat position similar to how your back/legs look when you’re about to deadlift.
Did the last set actually straddling the bar but still using just one hand at a time to complete the rep.
Are these lever rows? Is there a preferred way to do it? Even searching youtube leads to many different examples of lever rows. Just curious what was intended in the programming if you ideally have access to the proper equipment.
If it looked like this it was fine (and I think that is what is intended as Jordan and Tuchscherer travel in the same circles). You could probably just do T-bar rows or dumbell rows since its all basically the same thing anyway (~horizontal upper back high ROM pulling).
Gotcha, thank you, Josh. I think I’m close enough based on what I was doing. I could do either T-Bar or DB given my gym has both, but I enjoy the variety. Maybe I’ll do that another time/program.
Do you guys just track the weight of the plates when progressing on the Lever Row?
Self-efficacy: Probably doesn’t really matter as long as I am consistent in how I track it. After all, I am the only one who will ever look (or care) about my training log.
