Lifting on Back-to-Back Days | A Total No-No?

Hi Everyone - your advice on this please!

Current Programme: The Bridge (Lifting Mon, Weds and Fri) // Current Objective: Body-fat Loss

Due to unforeseeable BS at work, i couldn’t make my usual Wednesday session; I’m gonna do it today (Thursday) instead.

This leaves me with a couple of options:

  1. Do this week’s Day 3 session on Friday as usual, or
  2. Shift it to Monday (weekend is already maxed-out, so very little chance of Sat or Sun) Is there a significant negative impact to lifting on back-to-back days (NB: i’m talking about a one-off situation here; not planning on doing this regularly). Shifting to Monday is OK, but it’ll put my prog out of sequence, and tilt my OCD tendencies

Thanks!

FYI: Day 2 is Squat (pause 2), Press w/ Belt, Barbell Rows, Day 3 is Deadlift w/ Belt, Bench Press (pause 1), 3-0-3 Tempo Squat

You’ll be fine training on back to back days for this occasion. To the extent it has a negative impact, you’ll be able to adjust the stress based on the prescribed RPEs.

Excellent. Thanks Austin

Edit: FWIW - Today went OK. Faded slightly at the end. No biggie

Hello,

I am in the middle of LP. I have a question about scheduling conflicts. I have to travel for business this weekend, flying out tomorrow in the early am. I will not have time to train before I leave, and will not have access to a gym where I am going. What do I do? Skip; train tonight with less intensity? I feel like every time I miss a session, I lose my progress/momentum with regards to adding weight to the bar each session.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You should’ve trained.
