Hi, I recently purchased the new Strength I template, and I like the setup! I’m currently on the Low Fatigue template, and I was wondering If you would recomend swaping the cardio setup in LFT with the one in S1 2ed?
I feel like the setup in the new template is more appropriate regarding time spent and intensity. I’ve always strugled with the RPE 10 sessions in the older ones for example. This is SIS training, not HIIT training, or am I wrong?
Anyways cudos on the new template. I can’t wait to try it on, in the next powerlifting season!
I think the conditioning stuff programmed in the Low Fatigue Template is fine as is, though I also don’t have any issue if someone wanted to switch things around. Neither should be anywhere close to RPE 10 IMO. I’m not sure what SIS training is, but there are definitely options when it comes to programming in conditioning work. Especially since the volume of conditioning is relatively low in both templates.
In any case, I’d personally just do the conditioning as written, but you can switch it up if you prefer.
Sorry, my bad. I meant SIT or Sprint Interval Training. I have ben doing my 16min HIIT with uphill sprints for 20sek then walking for 140 sek. Since the program sais 20s print @10, i’ve alvays tought this meant sprint work. But after your recent research rewiev podcast, I realised this may be inapropriate for my goals as a powerlifter. Also, I don’t enjoy doing sprint work as often as twice per week, so I would rather opt for the lower intencity work in the new Strength I program.
Yep, that would be reasonable for in season training for a strength-focused individual. I do think some exposure to HIIT and SIT over the course of the training year would be good. Just need to plan it carefull!
