Meet Prep

I am about 14 weeks out from my first powerlifting meet. I have been lifting for about 9 months and have made consistent progress. I have run the power building 1 template once, and saw good progress in all three lifts.

My question is if I should utilize the strength 1 template for my meet prep? Or will rerunning the powerbuilding program, followed by the novice peaking template be sufficient?

I’m not really competing to win, but I don’t want to go about the process the wrong way.

Thanks!

T,

I think the Strength I template is a better setup for meet prep, but you could also do PB I and a short 2-week taper at the end with one of our peaking templates. Either way would work and if you’re making good progress with the PB I template and you already have access to it, I don’t feel like you necessarily need to go buy another template unless you want to.

Jordan - if you use Strength I for meet prep, is it still advisable to use a peaking template after the conclusion of the 13 weeks? It’s clear that you advise the use of a peaking template if PB is used for meet prep, but I wasn’t sure if Strength I included a taper within the program. Thank you.
