Minimum conditioning Push-Pull-Legs PB template

What’s the minimum conditioning requirement for the Push-Pull-Legs Powerbuilding template? Instructions say two- four but on the spreadsheet for each week it describes more than two per week. Is two 30 minutes sessions a week in zone 2 on my rower sufficient?

Hey Peter,

I would recommend doing ALL of the conditioning, if possible. The programming starts with three conditioning sessions per week on that specific program, but goes up over time to exceed the current physical activity guidelines. I think that amount of conditioning would be great if you can fit it in.

To your question directly, 60-minutes of rowing per week is a little less than half of the amount of conditioning I’d like you to be doing. The current guidelines recommend 150-min/wk at least. No shade intended if that doesn’t work with your schedule. Regardless, I would aim to get as much of the prescribed conditioning in as you can.

Would fast walking with a 20kg weight vest contribute to this?

Hey Peter,

Yes, rucking and similar activities can certainly count as conditioning. That said, the added weight of the vest tends to make people walk slower (than they would without the vest) and for shorter periods of time. If someone prefers walking with a weighted vest, that’s cool with me, but I would be equally as happy with other types of conditioning.
