Hi y’all,
I plan on enlisting in the US Airforce as a Combat Controller and I began training for the PAST test 5 weeks ago. I been powerlifting for about 4 years and I haven’t been doing any training for running or military related training since high school. I am currently 22 years old. The PAST test is a requirement to get into special operations for the military, it involves completing a minimum amount of pull ups, sit ups, push ups, times 1.5 run (10.20 mins), under water swimming, and timed surface swim. I feel I have everything down except the swimming part, which I am currently getting help for that. All my training for the PAST test has drastically improved since 5 weeks ago, which is when I started training for the PAST test. While training for the PAST I am running the Powerlifting 2 Template. My plan is to compete at collegiate nationals in April, then continue to prepare for the military then enlist in the summer. Any suggestion or comments to be getting mentally and physically ready for this rigorous training would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Bryan
