Program to run after 12 week strength?

I bought the fall template package and have just completed the 12 week strength program with pretty decent results. Is it recommended to run it again right after or should I mix in the 7 week GPP Hypertrophy and then do the 12 week again?

What were your results after the 12 week program?

In the full templates package, as well as in multiple thread discussions on the forum, the BBM crew has stated that they feel it is good to alternate strength programming with a hypertrophy block. Most recently, Jordan stated in a thread that a hypertrophy block is good at re-sensitizing the lifter to pure strength work. I experienced this exact thing personally as I hit a wall with strength training, but some time doing hypertrophy work really seemed to allow me to reset a bit.

What is your experience with re-running the program?

I didn’t rerun the 12-week template, but ran the Bridge 1.0, then Bridge 2.0. In the last half of 2.0, things really started to grind.

How long did he say the hypertrophy block should last?
Would the BBM 7-week template be too long?

7 weeks is (probably) just right. That’s why when BBM applied their considerable expertise to making a hypertrophy template, it ended up being 7 weeks long.

The templates were created to help you periodize your post-novice training, so just lay them out as written one after the other (intelligently of course), and have at it. For the “big and strong” crowd, alternating 12 week strength with 7 week hypertrophy will work just fine.

If you have specific scheduling concerns such as peaking strength for a meet or a certain body comp goal for a beach vacation, then you may need to mess with the length of the blocks a bit.
