Protein intake for the training insensitive

Hi Jordan,

Thanks for your wonderful series of programming podcasts. After thinking about them, I had the following question.

For older lifters, you mentioned a need to increase protein intake due to reduced anabolism and MPS response – that is, their relative insensitivity to training. Does this recommendation generalize to training insensitive younger lifters? In particular, would you recommended that a mid-20s, male, insensitive lifter also increase his daily protein intake relative to the standard recommendation (approximately ~1g/lb) to optimize results?

I don’t think so, unless I have reason to believe they aren’t getting enough protein.
