Quest hero bar

Recently needed a quick lunch, i saw quest “hero” bars. A five pack for nominal money. I bought it. I ate it. Tastes good, felt fuelled. 150 calories and 17g of protein each. So I ate 750 calories and 85 grams of protein plus some fat and a few “net” carbs. All was well. Normally I eat about 215 grams of protein a day, around 200 grams of carbs and 60 grams of fat. Generally I eat whatever and it does not bother me. no known allergies. Always no stomach problems. About two hours in, it hits me, extreme gas, bloating, thirst. Bad gas too, like dead things. Another two hours and I am glued to the toilet. Currently at the 6 hour mark and the worst is over but my stomach still feels at defcon 2. What is the deal with demonic things. Was it the excess fiber? Suger alcohol?

Wait, you ate 5 of the hero bars at one sitting? That’s 75g protein, 110g carbohydrates, 55g fat, and 55g fiber. Seems like a bad idea…

One small bite is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man.

These things often have certain types of “fibers” that may be more or less tolerable to some people. I put fibers in quotes because they aren’t really like the fiber you would get from fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc…
