So, I am fully aware that training less is not optimal. I have experienced wonderful progress in all major lifts whilst using both the strength template and the hypertrophy template. Due to time constraints I am unable to train 3 days per week. I am fortunate enough to be traveling the west, hiking and camping with my family. I will be able to train realistically 2 days per week. My question is, if you had a gun to your head, what would you do if you could only train twice per week. I was thinking of progressing the sets and reps like the strength template, doing one upper body and one lower body comp lift per day then an assistance exercise that I suck the most at. I’m just trying to detrain as little as possible as I will be traveling for approximately 1 year. As far as my training hx: 33yom, 215 lbs, best squat 465, bench 420, dl 555, press 245. legitimate training for bench about 12 years legit training for lower body lifts about 10 years. Thanks in advance for your response
If I had to train 2x/wk and had previously been training 3x/wk with 9 exercises I would do 4 exercises on each training day with the same volume I did before. No need to reinvent the wheel here. It’d look something like 2 comp lifts (SQ and PR and BP/DL for ease of setup), one even numbered supplemental exercise and 1 odd numbers supplemental exercise. Probably would just use the hypertrophy templates guidelines actually.

Thanks so much. This is actually very helpful and reassuring.
