Running Strength II for 20 Week Meet Prep

Man, I feel like it’s 2018 and I’m asking questions about the OG 12 Week Strength Template in the Facebook group haha.

I recently finished grad school (Yay!) and have more time to train this summer. My wife and I signed up for a powerlifting meet September 27th.

I picked up the 2nd Gen Strength II and Strength III templates this week. I’m coming off extremely minimal training for a few months (3-6 sets @ RPE 5-7 per week of squat/hinge//press) so I felt Strength II was the right call for this meet prep.

I have 20 weeks to prep. Strength II has 14 weeks across Block 1 and Block 2.

Option 1: Running Block 1 then repeating Weeks 3-8 (maybe swap exercises?) before starting Block 2.

Option 2: Running Block 1 then running block 2 twice.

Which one is more advisable? I feel like Plan A is better.

Congrats on finishing up. That’s a big deal!!

For this situation, I’d plan on running ~ Weeks 1 -6 of Block 1 of Strength II, then repeating the whole block (8 weeks) with different exercises. Then, I’d finish with Block 2 and go have a helluva meet.
