Safety Squat Bar Vs Barbell

Is there a significant biomechanical difference between safety squat bar and barbell for squats? I was considering mostly replacing or entirely replacing barbell squat with safety bar but don’t want to find it doesn’t develop posterior chain as much or some other variable. I don’t compete just for personal strength training.

You won’t get as good at doing barbell squats if you don’t do barbell squats. Otherwise, carry on :slight_smile:
