Salmonella Posioning and difficulty getting back on track

Hello BBM.

I apologize in advance for both my English level and the length of the thread.

My height is 168cm and my I was rather strong and kinda big with significant amount of fat.
By age 19 I was approximately 88KG, but not too fat.

I was drafted to the army in 2011, and in 2013 I got salmonella poisoning (I was also diagnosed with IBS when I was 16), which took over 2 months to diagnose due to bureaucracy and other military nonsense.
By the time it was discovered, my weight had dropped to 56KG from about 85KG, and something went wrong with my digestive system.

I can no longer eat anywhere near the amounts of food I used to eat, and many times I don’t even feel hungry for over 12 hours.

I started doing SS about 3 months ago, and even though my lifts feel pretty good (90 KG squat, 105KG deadlift, 65KG bench press and 35KG overhead press), I really feel like I’m stuck due to me not eating enough.

I try to compensate my low appetite with whey protein mixed with heavy whipping cream (2 scoops of whey and over 150ML HWC) which adds up to about 1000 calories.
Combine it with the fact that I drink a protein shake whenever I notice I hadn’t eaten anything, my diet is completely off balance and consists of too much powder.

I really want to progress with my lifts and gain more strength, and I was wondering if you have any input on the subject.

What do you weigh now and what is your waist circumference?

Sounds like you had a rough go of it, but you shouldn’t have much in the way of lasting effects if you are managed appropriately.

How many calories per day are you eating and what has your weight done in the past 3 months?

I would probably not recommend continuing with SS. You need to train with any program that uses progressive overload for a long time to get actually strong. Your weight will likely change, but I don’t really have enough info to tell you what to do here.
