Hi friends,
I’d had some tightness and pain around my right shoulder blade for a few days from sleeping in a bad position. It didn’t prevent me continuing with my PPL program. It was still feeling achy as I was going to bed and I decided to dig into some of the muscles in and around the pain in my right trap/shoulder to see if it helped. Firm pressure point until I felt muscles relax in a few spots. Very bad decision. Now for the past 3-4 days I have intermittent severe pain on what seems like the branch of nerves that runs through there. It’s most intense in my lats just under the right armpit and down along the triceps on my right arm. (Not where I was doing the pressure point release) I can find positions that don’t aggravate it, but turning my head, leaning forward, extending my right arm out in front of my body, coughing, all hurt immensely. Ice didn’t help a ton, nor did ibuprofen. It’s getting more difficult to find a position to sleep that doesn’t irritate it which sucks. Working my desk job with my arm extended to use the mouse is a no go. Jogging seemed fine if I kept posture in check. If very deliberate with bar path I can still lift. I would really appreciate if you could point me in a general direction. Is this a GP or an orthopedic visit? Pain relief ideas? Nerve gliding or let it simmer down? Thanks for all you do for the community.
