Sitting down for long periods before training

Hey everyone,

I was recently told it is dangerous to lift weights after sitting down for a few hours/ most of the day as the discs would not be mobile and lubricated enough to withstand the pressures from the barbell lifts. Do you guys think there is any validity to this? This advice comes from a gym owner/ ex-kinesiologist.

That advice is not based on evidence. Would recommend to ignore. You can tell him we said he’s wrong.
