What are your thoughts on doing sledgehammer to tire for cardio? Want to change it up from 4x/week elliptical and do something upper body focused. Thought I’d stop at Menards today and pick up like an 8lb sledge.
It’s okay for some higher intensity interval stuff, though the impact and movement pattern leave something to be desired compared to other options. For upper body stuff, I’d rather have you pull a sled, tire, etc. using an arm-over-arm pull or something like that.
@Jordan_Feigenbaum so Ive been trying the sled pull arm over arm. My length of rope isn’t very long. Using a battle rope tied around the sled. So when I pull it to me I run the length of rope out again and pull a 2nd time before my time is up. Doing 30sec intervals with 90sec rest. However too light I’m not really feeling it cardio wise and too heavy my arms start to give out halfway through the 2nd pull and still doesn’t feel like cardio just taxing on the arms. Is it a Goldie locks situation and I just need to find the weight that’s just right?
