Hello,
The media tells me I need 7 - 8 hours of sleep. Trending toward 8 to be healthy.
People purporting to “know” fitness tell me I need a minimum of 8 hours for recovery.
An elite crossFit coach I fallow talk about a 7 - 9 hour sleep window being optimal for the general public or people training minimally and recommend a 10 hour minimum.
To my memory I have no example of someone suggesting a maximum number of hours.
My question are…
-
Is there a recommended maximum number of sleep hours for for each category of individual… non training - elite?

I train NLP Mon, Wed, Fri, about 2 hours. Tue, Thur, Sat, I train 1.5 hours of skills development and ~ 30 min cardio, ~15 min at lactic threshold intensity. Does any one have recommendations or resources for me to reed that would help me nail down a number of hours to maximize recovery at my conditioning level? I.e., is there a sleeping point of no return, or regression for that point?
