I’m asking for a friend today, since I feel like he’ll never get around to asking himself. We’re both 16 and I introduced him to Barbell Medicine a couple weeks ago. However, he just wanted to know what to do during football season. Should he continue to train outside of football practice or just only train during off-season? In addition, what is your stance on sports specific training? Is it useful or should an athlete focus on just getting stronger with power-lifting movements?
