Stalling on SSLP

Hey guys,

I’m 6’2 and around 165 pounds running SSLP on week 7 . My squat is at 145, bench 140, press 95, DL 225. Embarrassing numbers but, it is what it is. I have failed to hit 3x5 on my squat two different times now, once at 145 and now again at 150 ( could only do 3x3). I backed off the weight today and did 5x5 at 135 to see if a little more volume would help. Should I continue with 5x5 for a while or should i attempt to do 150 3x5 my next session?

Also, what would you say is a true stall on the LP that would warrant moving to intermediate programming?

What has your body weight been doing through this process? You are extremely underweight.

Thanks for the reply Austin. I’m slowly putting it on. Gaining weight has always been a problem for me. I weighed around 135-140 pounds in my early 20s. I’m 30 now and at the highest weight I’ve ever been. I drink two protein shakes a day with 3 good meals and a Couple glasses of milk and some beef jerkey for a snack.

If you have to take a small reset to facilitate getting your reps at this stage, that’s OK. There’s no need to be embarrassed about yourself, but I think the bodyweight is your biggest target to facilitate continued progress for now.
