Stuck with program

Hello,

2025 was the first year I started exercising consistently again after awhile. I did the Reddit Beginner Routine then tried 5/3/1 which was too much volume for me(felt like I was overtraining), and then I jumped into GZCLP. I have not been tracking my lifts on paper as well as my calories, but I feel like I need to do more. I have been adding in my own conditioning. I bought the Barbell Medicine Beginner Routine some years back, and I feel it would be good to do it. I do not think it will be too easy, and it will establish a good base. I also recently strained my SI joint so I am going to start light with anything squat and deadlift related. I think this program will add more discipline for me and allow me to reach my best. I also want to lose some weight to do 3 sets of 10 pullups and dips cleanly and easily. Should I continue with GZCLP or Barbell Medicine Beginner? Thoughts? Thanks.

Looks like you double posted, though in the other post it says 2024 instead of 2025, which does have implications on my recommendation.

If you’re asking me, I do not think LP-based programs are great for most folks due to the progression model.

Next, if you’re not a beginner, I don’t think a beginner program is likely suitable for you either. If the correct year was 2025, I think our new beginner program would be perfect for you.

Otherwise, I would likely refer you to our template quiz to pick a program based on your goals and resources.
