TM after the Bridge 2.0?

Hi there!

Looking for a program to do after I finished the Bridge 2.0. First of all I was thinking about the Texas Method. But after reading in different forums and listening to your interview @Alan_Thrall I decided not to do so.

On the Barbellmedicine Homepage there are ‘12 Ways To Skin the TM’. What do you think actually about those programs now? Should I do one of them?
At the moment I am getting used to the RPE thing. I really like it and would like to stay with it. I also saw your ‘General Program Template for the Intermediate/Advanced Lifter’. But this one is only for one month? So right now I am all into the RPE-thing but I have nothing that comes right after the Bridge. It’s pretty disappointing and I feel like standing in the middle of nowhere…

So my possibilities:

  • repeat ‘The Bridge’
  • Texas Method
  • one of the 12 Versions of the Texas Method (by Jordan)
  • Going back to 5/3/1
  • 1 month of the ‘General Program Template…’
  • something else?

Looking forward to an interesting discussion!

Gene,

Since you’ve been exposed to our material you should be able to make heads or tails of this, IMO. Neither TM proper nor 5/3/1 offer enough volume/frequency/appropriate intensity to work well for you after The Bridge. One of the “skins” for the TM I published may- depending on which one you choose. You could, alternatively, re run the Bridge if it worked well for you. You could also see if coaching and 1-on-1 programming is a good fit for you.

That all being said, it depends on a lot of different factors as to what would be optimal. If you have plenty of time to train, no major life stressors coming up, and are generally doing well with the Bridge right now, I’d do the Bridge again.
