Torn hamstring

I just decided to race my 12 year old who thought he was faster than me. I won the race, but felt a pop in my left hamstring. I did this once before in the other leg before I was aware of the starting strength community and want to fix this one correctly.

Starr protocol immediately came to mind. My question is how and when do I get started? And since it’s the hamstring do I do deadlifts instead of squats?

I can’t imagine having to bend over the pain is pretty intense. For now I’m afraid to stop walking in circles.
