I’ve always used the rule of thumb: neck up (i.e. headcold) continue to train, neck down (i.e. flu, body aches, fever) don’t train. I know this is probably not backed by science whatsoever but anecdotally it’s always seemed to help me get over a cold faster if I trained. However, I was recently layed out over the holiday with a horrible bout of flu. Any guidelines how long to take off before resuming training? Thank you!
There’s no absolute/minimum amount of time you need to take off. Once you feel OK to go back (even if starting with some light work), go for it.
