Im doing Strength I template and the GPP is to do tri push downs every week. I am trying to save money and be able to use the home gym instead of keep going to a gym. With that being said what can I do for Tri workout with no cable machine and only have barbell and dumbbells?
I think Jordan has recommended band push downs in the past (just throw it over a bar or something), so that’s a pretty cheap way of doing them. For more resistance you can shorten the band by wrapping it around whatever you have it on.
You could also probably just pick some other triceps movement and be fine. Like Standing/laying extensions or JM presses. There’s a million of them to pick from.
Have you got a bench?
Lying triceps extensions are brutal. Not the ‘skull crusher’ variation, all the way back behind your head. Rip does a pretty good demo that I wont link in case anyone gets salty…
Dips work the triceps pretty hard, as do diamond pushups (if you’re not averse to bodyweight exercise).
