So far, for my conditioning I have been using the stationary bike for both LSS & HIIT. I am wondering if switching to say bike for 30min LSS and then running 20/140sec sprints would be a good idea for the HIIT day? Or would this beat up the knees too much?
I don’t think sprinting would “beat the knees up”, but if you’re not used to sprinting, it will cost you more fatigue than other modalities. If you want to start to incorporate running into your conditioning, I’d start at a much lower intensity than sprinting to build some tolerance.
My honest opinion, I would not do running sprints for HIIT for at least the next 2 months until you have done some regular running.
