Warm Up and Injury Risk Reduction

Is there evidence that omitting a warmup increases chance of getting an injury? (and by warmup I mean slowly working up intensity to your working weight, not warmup as in mobility/stretching as you guys have addressed that elsewhere). I realize from a practical standpoint people do warm ups for mental and physical preparedness, but I’m wondering if actually has any implications for injury risk reduction.

What have you found on the topic so far?

It may exist, but I can’t say I’ve looked for specific evidence on this. Others may chime in here too.
