Weight gain or nah?

Hey Dr. Jordan, I’ve been running the 7 week 3 day template and been loving it. I am 6’4” and currently 235lbs with a waist of 37”. I am fairly new to dedicated training (about 6 months or so) but I wanted to ask is there an approximate weight I should aim for based on my height? I’m not super lean by any means and I know the waist cut off is 40” I am just a little stuck as to whether a slow bulk would be helpful for strength/hypertrophy or too risky from a health stand point. I feel like I’m sort of on the border of unhealthy based on my waist. I hope this is okay to ask here I just would like a little guidance. Thanks in advance!

I don’t think you’re at any real risk by gaining a small amount of weight, nor do I think you’ll live substantially longer if you lose a small bit of weight. What I mean by that is- you don’t really have a strong indication to change your weight drastically outside of your personal goals.

I think roughly maintaining your weight while you continue to train for the next 3 months would be my initial plan for you and see how you do.
