I am currently on week 8 of the hypertrophy I template and enjoying the process quite a bit. Strength has been improving on all lifts each session, and I generally feel pretty good and look forward to the next
session.
I am a 47 year old male weighing 205lbs with a 37 inch waist. My estimated 1 rep max going into week 8 are 270 bench, 378 squat and 398 deadlift. The deadlift has been a little slower going up due to a tweaked
back around week 4. I know the waist is still a little high, but it has been dropping over time. Started well over 40 inches 6-8 months ago. It does seem harder to lose the fat rolls on the sides now without major
calorie restriction.
I starting lifting last summer with a 2 month period of no lifting around the holidays (recovering from moderate Covid infection). So, probably 9-10 months of lifting experience now.
The question is what should I do next? Is there any reason to move on Hypertrophy II over just running hypertrophy I again? Should I consider a different template? I ran powerbuilding I prior to Hypertrophy I. I
have responded to Hypertrophy I better.
My goals are to improve strength and hypertrophy with increase in general health.
