Hello everyone. I just purchased the 12-week strength template. I started to doubt my current program (it looks like the taper started 7 weeks out and the percentages dropped to roughly 60 to 65% for two weeks and I think I need more intensity for the next few weeks) My first meet is October 13th. The other program was DUP-based and I had been running it for 2 weeks… So what would be the recommended week to start the 12-week strength template? I am a 46 year old male and have a recent training age of roughly two-and-a-half years. I am a bit neurologically compromised as I have had Parkinson’s disease for 10 years.
Welcome! This is a tough one given the timing of your meet. If you count back, you could start the 12 week template at week 6 so the realization week matches up with your meet, but then I am unsure why you’re switching a program this close to the meet. You’ll see that the volume of the 12 week template drops at 6-7 weeks out as well.
thank you for the reply. Yes, I find myself asking why as welI lol. The intensity goes down and the volume goes up… that’s what’s weird… The first two weeks we’re great then I was doing the numbers for the next two weeks of the program and I noticed this. the program comes in four weeks blocks so I don’t know what the last 6 weeks would be unless I fork over more cash. I just didn’t want to take a chance. I will check week 6 to see if it makes sense. Thanks again!
