Hi everyone. I’m interested in running the BBM templates for my first meet in end of February but I’m having trouble deciding which to choose. I’m 17, 180lbs and 5’9. My pr’s are currently a 440 deadlift, 360 squat and 190 bench. I’ve been training for about 2 - 3 years, although the last year has been terrible training-wise because of the pandemic and because I’ve been moving. I’ve spent the last month getting back into lifting and want to start running a serious program again, hence my question.
I’d probably run our Beginner Prescription for 4-6 weeks and then Strength or Powerbuilding I, depending on your preferences.
Thanks for the advice. Before I commit to one of the templates, I wanted to know if Strength I also has options for addressing weak points (in my case a forward lean in the squat and weak lockout for the deadlift).
I think any squatting and deadlift work would address those issues, though my view is that your “weak” point likely occurs before the barbell slows down and/or may be more related to the exercise style selected or a technique issue(s). In sum, I don’t think you need special exercises to fix those things just yet.
