Which Template

Barbell Medicine Crew,

I am finishing up the Bridge and want to move to a new program. My goal is to hit 500/400/300 and eventually a 225 Press. My squat and deadlift are close, but my bench is around 225-230 for a one rep max. It is a good idea to try the 12 week Press template to increase my pressing strength, or should I run the HLM or Bridge 2 first then move on to said template? Also, how long does each training session tend to last on the Press template?

You could run either the 12 Week Strength or the 12 Week Press templates. If you need a 3-day program instead, you could use the Bridge 2.0 or the HLM template.

Can’t give you an answer to that - there’s no “rough estimate” or even an “average” I can give you. You won’t finish them in under 30 minutes, obviously, but in the context of an autoregulated program, you can adjust the rest periods pretty significantly if necessary, and just titrate the working weights up/down as needed for the target RPEs.
