Hello. I’m in week 2 of Hypertrophy I after completing two runs through the Bridge. I ended the bridge with a 1RM deadlift of 360 lbs at a body weight of 168 lbs, mixed grip, chalk and no straps. I had not done much in the way of RDLs.
I am finding the higher rep RDLs are presenting grip challenges that I had not experienced with DLs. Even at a much lower weight, my grip is fatiguing on the last couple of reps and this is limiting the amount of weight I can put on the bar. I have never used straps. I am assuming I have two options here - keep doing RDLs at the lower weight to focus on improving my grip, or start using straps to maximize the weight used for RDLs. Is there an advantage to one approach over the other? Is there another option I should consider? Thank you.
