Advice on nutrition eating cafeteria food everyday

Started college recently, and I used to be a stickler for how much protein, carbs, and fat I ate. College cafeteria food is making that challenging and with all the other stuff happening, i figured I’d scrap the strictness

Now I usually just have a protein pancake and greek yogurt in the morning, and then stick to Alan Thrall’s advice of 1 choice of protein, 1 of vegetable, and 1 of carbohydrates, trying my best to eat the “healthiest” options, which usually just means foods with the least amount of fats. I unnecessarily beat myself up over eating eggs though, especially when that’s the only option for breakfast some days.

Anyone have any other advice for cafeteria foods?

Why would you beat yourself up over eggs? Good protein , low calorie. Those and some fruit with milk make a fine meal.

I can write off the fat, but its mainly the cholesterol. My father and his father have heart problems related to cholesterol, i already have high cholesterol although no current heart problems, but I still worry about that

Hey, navigating cafeteria food can be a challenge, especially with the college hustle! Your approach of one protein, one veg, and one carb sounds pretty solid. Don’t be too hard on yourself about the eggs – they’re a great source of protein! Maybe consider mixing things up with some fruit or whole grains for breakfast variety. And hey, when you need a break from the cafeteria, any recommendations for breakfast places near me?
