I’m planning to do my first meet in June and have a question regarding programming. Most recently, I’ve run The Bridge, the 12-Week Strength program, and am currently doing the 4-day/7 week hypertrophy. When I wrap up my current program I’ll be 14 weeks out. I’m guessing the Strength program is the way to go but I’ll looking for suggestions in case there are other options I’m not aware of. And if the 12-week strength is the way to go, what do I do with that one week between programs?! Do the first week twice?
Pivot block (aka low stress week). Am I thinking in the right direction?
Yeah, I think the 12-Week Strength is the best program of choice for going into a meet. If you’re still responding well to the Hypertrophy Program you could always just repeat Week 6 or 7 for another week and then move onto the Strength Template. Or repeat Week 1 of the Strength Template. Or take a low stress or pivot week to just palate cleanse for a week before moving into meet prep. Lots of options!
