Aren’t these two movements practically equivalent? I guess the floor version gives your arms a physical reference hard stop. But otherwise I would I think the latter would be less awkard of a setup and you could use a regular bench.
Well they aren’t completely equivalent as the floor functions like a pin, where you actually deload the weight for a moment. Though I think you could substitute away if you wish.

No I don’t think they’re the same for the same reason PWard already said. In addition the ROMs aren’t going to match perfectly. Specifically since FP decreases TUT and Spoto keeps it the same-ish I’d bet money most people can FP more than they can Spoto, let alone with feet up.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with subbing them out either.
