Got sick, what do.

Good afternoon, I hope you ad a good Christmas. Started PB 2 Gen 2 on December 16th and finished the first week. Prior to that I had finished low fatigue GS&C, although the last block was very choppy due to work and Thanksgiving travel. Missed one complete week due to travel, and a few missed sessions of that final block. Other than that, my adherence was very good.

Fast forward, this past week I got very sick. Started on Monday and rarely got out of bed. I test negative for Flu, believe it was a sinus infection. I was not able to train and generally feel weak. I’m feeling much better today, and my plan is to resume training tomorrow. Usually I would just start fresh from week 1 and run the program as normal. However, given the choppyness of the prior block, and this illness, I’m wondering if more of an on ramp is needed. I’m kind of thinking week 1 of PB 2 Gen 2 this week, then move onto week 2 and skip the final set for each movement, then run week 2 as normal and complete the program.

So I guess my question is, do you think an on ramp more than the low stress week 1 is needed, if so, is my modification reasonable? If not, what would you recommend. I read returning to the gym, and my situation just feels a little nuisanced as I only missed one week, which would indicate little to no modification, but the prior four weeks had been choppy and I was pretty sick.

No additional on ramp needed. I think the low stress week is just what the doctor ordered (always wanted to say that).

Generally speaking, someone would have to be missing more training for longer for me to start thinking about changing the training significantly. Glad you’re feeling better!

Awesome, thanks Jordan. I’ll run Week 1 this week and continue to week 2 next week as programed. Today was a weird session. After being in bed all last week, everything just felt hard. True RIR I probably never truly went over a 6 even though top sets should of been an 8, it just felt hard, lol so I kept the sets relatively light. Im sure as I continue to bounce nack from the illness this week, it’ll all start feeling normal again.

Glad I gave you the opportunity to say just what the Dr. ordered, lol. Hope you have a good new years.
